Ald. Anthony Napolitano, a member of a multi-generation CPD family and a former CPD officer and Chicago firefighter, emphasized that he wasn’t accusing the department of engaging in a conspiracy, but said, “It’s just weird that, all of a sudden, our numbers have come down drastically and it’s not what people are witnessing on the street right now.”
I’m retired police. I’ve seen it done many times. It’s normally weak chiefs who want to retain their title responding to directives from politicians. As the article states, there are a myriad of methods of re-classifying crime, let alone not claiming crimes committed in your jurisdiction that are investigated by another agency (i.e. ISP). A double digit drop in ANY crime category is phenomenal!

It’s so large a drop that it would take significant evidence of fraudulent reporting to account for the drop. Where is the evidence?
I read cwbchicago.com every day. The stats are altered. And the Trib and times don’t report it because they don’t want to piss off the 5th floor
What is the evidence it was altered? All I have seen so far is accusations.
Read cwbchicago.com and heyjackass.( it’s a website) then compare those stories to what’s reported . I also have 2 cops in the family. They know
