Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. The H1B scam has been going for decades as university and industry leaders screamed about “engineering shortages”. It is a method for these leaders to hold down American wages while hiring cheap technical coolies. Early in the Reagan years the alternative press revealed that big businesses such as IBM and HP held annual meetings to compare engineering salaries. I am much too busy in retirement to fully proof read all that I write. My important points are not altered by that error.
Proof reading is a dying art, unfortunately.
Illinois has two of the real powerhouse engineering schools in the US– Univ of Illinois and IIT. And Purdue with a great engineering school is not that far away. And JB must have forgotten about Northwestern’s E school. These inept people in our state government are really clueless.
