Rose, Balkema oppose Pritzker proposal for township consolidation in small communities – WAND (Decatur)

The proposal could eliminate the office of township assessor in counties with less than 5,000 people. Pritzker administration officials explained the legislation would enable community-led township consolidation and allow county boards to create referendums on the countywide elimination of township organization.

Modern technology has made townships relics of the past. Save the funding and lets move on.

Governor JB Pritzker’s idea is a tax-saving measure! Sen. Chapin Rose’s comment that SB 2504 will lead to a massive tax hikes is a lie! Taxpayers in most states do NOT have township government or their 94% property tax burdens. Illinois townships are corrupt Political – Tar- Pits of Cronyism, Nepotism, Patronage and most of all, WASTE!
