S. IL fed judge says IL ‘assault weapons’ ban likely violates Second Amendment, puts enforcement on hold – Cook County Record

Nearly four months since Gov. JB Pritzker signed the gun ban into law, U.S. District Judge Stephen McGlynn wrote, “In no way does this Court minimize the damage caused when a firearm is used for an unlawful purpose; however, this Court must be mindful of the rights guaranteed by the Constitution."

Less than 500 murders committed every year in the entire United States with rifles, all rifles combined. 500 is a sad number but just a fraction of the 35K murders every year. Handguns are dominant and knives are used 3x more than rifles. Beatings with hands, fists, feet and blunt objects 3x as many than rifles as well. Here’s a thought for the liberals out there that want to make me and thousands of other innocent, law abiding citizens who own one of the proposed banned rifles how about prosecuting and putting those people thsn commit violent gun crimes in… Read more »
