Sanctuary Policies ‘Protect Public Safety,’ Illinois Groups Argue In Response To Justice Department Lawsuit – Block Club Chicago

Citing a 2017 report from the Center for American Progress, a liberal think tank, the brief argues economies are stronger in places where local governments have sanctuary policies. Deport the illegals and get the citizen slackers to work. Lock up the criminals. What’s not to like?

I wonder if the “Institute on Taxation and Economic Policy” is one of the organizations getting Federal funding? I know every time I read something under its banner it seems to be left sided, not impartial and therefore hardly deserved of public funds.

It’s in the name: ILLEGAL immigrants. They broke our laws and are sopping up resources that should be supporting LEGAL CITIZENS.

Mass deportations can’t come soon enough. The only path they should follow is the path back to where they came from.

Note to border jumpers at your rallies: Phrase your signs in English or they won’t be understood. And please shelve that abomination of a hybrid American/ Mexican flag. It is an insult.

Over my lifetime I have worked with, been friends with and neighbours with many illegal aliens. Individually many were / are good people, but as a group they are a huge problem when it comes to the Citizens quality of life and I want to see them gone. In the suburb I live in I’m now seeing push cart vendors on residential streets. Multiple families in single family houses with street parking out of control.

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension.
