Saying Chicago police uphold ‘racist and white supremacist values,’ DePaul tutors refuse to work with officers taking classes, call for university to cut ties with department – Chicago Tribune

“A lot of our tutors are people of color and don’t feel comfortable (assisting police officers),” she said. “The general consensus was not feeling comfortable with people that make them feel unsafe and are part of a larger institution that upholds racist and white supremacist values.”

“If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State.”

When they are the victim, they want the police…

Just like the (D) rep. in DC along with a MSM type, who were accosted by the mob…

Their first response…?

Where’s the police…!

Reap what you sow…

Hey tutors, if you dont feel comfortable teaching what the University tells you to teach, then just quit. And if the students dont feel comfortable being in such a class, dont go to class and suffer the consequences. Typical snowflake poorly educated young people who try to force their preferences on everyone else.

I would be more concerned about why DePaul would ever hire such racist tutors.

Police everywhere need a No Response list. People can add their names to the list so the police don’t respond to their calls

A similar idea is for those who oppose the death penalty. At age of consent the person signs a legal document that states their wishes in regards to punishment if they become the victim of a murder. Life in prison, intense counseling, # of years max, death by a legally prescribed manner etc. This would satisfy the wants of the kinder, gentler crowd as well as the harsh sentence advocates. Of course the document could be amended whenever if a persons views and attitudes changed.

This is one of the most ridiculous things I have ever heard. Clearly, these folks are looking to make some sort of point. Has nothing to do with reality.

“A lot of our tutors are people of color and don’t feel comfortable (assisting police officers),” she said. “The general consensus was not feeling comfortable with people that make them feel unsafe and are part of a larger institution that upholds racist and white supremacist values.” This is complete nonsense. Police officers who arrest criminals and keep the public safer make snowflakes ‘uncomfortable’. What about those UIC officers that tracked down that murder rapist who killed that unfortunate indian student in the parking garage last year? Is a social worker supposed to get involved in that? As for defunding the… Read more »

I hope wealthy older alumni recognize the values of these students as vastly different than their own and cease support of the university.

DePaul, I will no longer be offering my financial support as an alumnus – first you hired Carole Mosley-Braun (embezzler) and now this? Maybe we need to look at these institutions and require they handle 20 year olds who have NO IDEA about the real world. So very disappointing.

Glad to hear DePaul isn’t too far gone yet. Can Wirepoints do something about their basketball team? (It’s been a long time since we had a good team.)

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension.
