It would be interesting to know the text that she spoke along with these slides. Particularly those presenting test scores against colour and family income. What is the population this represents (ETHS? Nationwide? Something else?) and how did she get the family income data, which ordinarily isn’t provided by parents to the schools?

How totally absurd.

The best reason yet to find a way for your kids to attend private school untainted by race hustling.

Teaching victimhood is crippling, especially for impressionable children.

Vilification of anyone because of race is counterproductive, divisive, and simply wrong-headed.

If “hate speech” exists, this presentation is a prime example.

If you can do something, do it.
If you can’t do something, teach it.
If you can’t teach something, join the DIE/Black Grievance Industry.

That problem you mention is know in some circles as “the gutless white man approach”. No white male — or female for that matter- wants to take on the issue because he will become a lightning rod for all the equity hoaxsters. And the last thing you want is to get tagged with the label of “racist” or “sexist” in your place of employment, whether it is in business, government or academia. So almost every white person will duck the issue, try to stay clear of it, and the equity tripe just rolls on and on.

“Equity at Evanston Township High School” or better named how to always claim your failures are due to you being a victim of others.

You know the old saying…follow the money. Race baiting is a very lucrative business!

My first question is why was Michael Brown being highlighted in this presentation? That this was a wrongful shooting has been debunked over and over again. Wilson was cleared by the DOJ. There have been plenty of instances where bad police officers go rouge. This isn’t one of them. Secondly, “Equity means that students with the greatest need receive the greatest level of support to guarantee academic success.” What does this even mean? This has always been the case, and it has nothing to do with race. There are plenty of things parents and teachers can do to lift black… Read more »

Who put Savage-Williams on the taxpayer funded payroll? That is the real problem.

Her employer is a different district from the one whose Board she is on. She got elected to the Board by the small proportion of eligible voters who actually showed up to vote. Because the Board position is unpaid, it mainly attracts “educators” who are employed elsewhere.

Note that slide-deck doesn’t flag constructive structural changes that would address the actual academic achievement disparity, meaning methods to address relatively low-rate of black student SAT performance via additional academic tutoring, prep classes, and study-skill reinforcement. Nope, it’s usual race-baiting rhetoric claiming “white racism” is cause for low rate of black student academic performance at each income-level category. Maybe initiate a program for parents, to help these parents help their children focus on academic skilss to achieve better academic performance? Nope, instead we get progressive talking-points directed towards “levelling playing field”, meaning eliminating academic tracking and teaching only the basic-level… Read more »

“Goal: all students must perform at lowest-level of current academic performances.” It’s actually worse than this. Academics take up about an hour or two of the school day, especially since they focus only on basis stuff, little of which is even retained by students. The remainder of the school day is spent on some form of globohomo SEL (social emotional learning). The Goal is to turn schools into woke madrassases. Several years back, my son came home from school one day and told me that his entire class was taught, at school, that when he got angry, instead of lashing… Read more »

This crap isn’t just at Evanston, it’s everywhere. My local elected school board spent time during a school board meeting on how to ‘push back’ against parents who disagree with their radical changes, and like these slides, arose out of the context that wealthier kids score better on standardized tests (The very same tests that they insist don’t mean anything).

What a waste of salary and expenses. This is one example of what is so wrong in Public School Districts. IMHO – The focus of the school district should be education. Students should be able to be able to understand math, read, write, speak and behave within society. Focus on these basics is key to develop young people. Based on the student test results posted on Wire Points and elsewhere, teaching the basics is challenging ( for a variety of reasons) and the Districts are not successful in getting that done. In this case, much of the reason appears to… Read more »
