SCOTUS declines to block IL ‘assault weapons’ ban; Law poised to take effect Jan. 1 – Cook County Record

The full U.S. Supreme Court denied a request for an injunction from a Naperville gun shop owner and the National Association for Gun Rights which challengers hoped would block the state from enforcing the so-called Protect Illinois Communities Act while constitutional challenges to the law continue in federal courts. The denials of the injunction requests were issued without comment or dissent.

I happen to know some people who have FOID cards but don’t own ANY firearms at all, let alone “assault weapons”. They got FOID cards just in case they should ever need or want to purchase a firearm, since that is a prerequisite for obtaining a firearm in IL. ISP has no way of knowing which FOID card holders have banned weapons, which ones have legal weapons, and which ones don’t have any weapons so what are they going to do after Jan. 1 when it becomes obvious the vast majority haven’t complied? I’m expecting they might send a strongly… Read more »

Hail the governing and legislative bodies of Illinois shouts the Criminal and gang leaders!

Legal gun owners are now getting a taste of what it is like to live under the rule of a communist governing body and it is the Democrat communist.

2,300,000 million Republicans will become dangerous felons overnight, in the eyes of the state.

Don’t drop the soap in prison, deplorable, I hear the inmates at Menard don’t go easy on softies from the suburbs…

In the eyes of the state.

“While natural person describes an actual human being, artificial person describes a partnership, corporation, or some other entity that has been provided with legal personhood by statute.”

(5 ILCS 100/1-60) “Person” means any individual, partnership, corporation, association, governmental subdivision, or public or private organization of any character other than an agency.

And the ‘state’ has this massive multimillion dollar network of ‘prison’ to ‘incarcerate’ ‘natural persons’ who vote ‘republican’ and failed to ‘register’ their ‘assault rifle’ with JB’s Stazi.

People were also being attacked and thrown in jail for not wearing a mask. It doesn’t mean it was lawful.

My question is why someone writing a statute would feel the need to veer off into fantasyland, and refer to a corporation or partnership as a “person” and grant that entity “personhood”. Sorry, it looks like another psychological operation and mind game to me.

“Stop quoting laws to men with swords,” a young, arrogant, teenaged-butchering Pompey [the Great] is said to have told a group of civilians when they questioned his legal jurisdiction.”

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. Audio here.
