Sen. Duckworth: Pain at the pump is due to corporate greed – WMBD (Peoria)

U.S. Sen. Tammy Duckworth said oil companies have stopped drilling in an effort to keep prices high. She said oil companies are using the war in Ukraine as an excuse to drive up prices.

Duckworth must be as obtuse as the rest of her fellow Commiecrats.

The lie Communists like duckworth are pushing.
High gas prices because the stooge in the white house shut down the pipe line, is denying new drilling leases and he is importing oil from Communist countries.
Vote this thing out in November!

Duckworth will have a Republican challenger in November. Vote her out. If you say “I’ve always voted Democrat all my life”, then I ask you to consider what have Democrats done for you lately? They have turned their back on the Constitution, working americans, the middle class adn the poor. If you disagree with Democrats on any point then you are pronounced a racist deplorable. Unless you are a member of CTU, IFT or AFSCME, the Democrat Party – locally and nationally – is working aganst you, your livelihood and your family. While the Republicans aren’t perfect, I suggest that… Read more »

Duckworthless neglects to mention that these profits are partly due to the writeup in value of the oil companies’ reserves. These profits will vanish when a more intelligent administration takes over from this bunch of incompetent political hires.

It would also be a decided improvement if Duckworthless was also shown the unemployment line.

***—The bill would tax price-gouging companies for their excessive profits.—***

Oh the naiveness, that she doesn’t even realize just WHO will really be paying that tax

Tammy must suffer from corporate greed too, because she never asked for a governmental salary reduction. 🤔

Corporate greed, huh? Well, it wouldn’t have anything to do with the “Biden Administration” Cancelling the Keystone XL Pipeline Cancelling Drilling and Gas Leases multiple times for multiple areas in and off the shore of the US Banning imports of Russian oil And the state of Ill-annoy imposing extortionate taxes on a gallon of gasoline. Basic fact: Restrict the supply of a commodity but not the demand for that commodity, and the price goes up as it becomes harder to find. Also, thanks to Joe’s stupidity he’s insulted the Saudis who have oil and now they have no inclination to… Read more »

Kind of funny to blame the greedy corporations. So they decide to get greedy when there’s a Dem in the white house. Why weren’t they greedy when Trump was in the white house.

It actually is kind of funny listening to her talk about anything related to economics, prices or the economy. She doesn’t have a clue. And she must be unaware that there is already on the books plenty of anti- price gouging and anti-price fixing legislation. Things will never get better in Illinois with people like this in charge.

Duckworth only maintains a ‘show residence’ in Illinois, her primary residence is in the exclusive and not diverse McLean, Va outside D.C.

I don’t want to insult doorknobs but Duckworthless is dumber than a box full of them

There are rocks that exhibit more intelligence. They’re not dumb enough to make statements like that.

I don’t know who’s dumber, Duckworth or her constituents. Is she so out of touch that she doesn’t realize EVERYTHING has gotten more expensive, not just gas and food. The lease is up on my vehicle, if I want to replace it, that same vehicle three years later is 30% more. Fortunately I’m in the position where my buy out is 33% below book value so I’m going to buy it. I feel bad for the people that have to buy/lease a car because their cost of ownership is going to go up significantly. And she truly has no understanding… Read more »

Democrat Senator Duckworth Runs Cover For Clueless Joe Biden Shitting The Bed On Gas Prices — Drafts Phony Bill To Bar Big Oil Price Fixing — Price Fixing That Does Not Exist

Dimwit Duckworth is simply not very bright. Her hero Biden declared war on big oil on his first day in office. She and her fellow Dems are now reaping the rewards.

That doesn’t explan the 20% gas price disparity between Northern Illinois and Southern Wisconsin .
Got gas this morning in WI at $4.80 vs. $5.90 inn Woodstock

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension.
