Several Illinois libraries forced to close doors temporarily after getting bomb threats – WCIA (Champaign)

The Illinois Library Association would not go so far as to link the threats to ongoing efforts to censor books in libraries, but they said these threats should still be taken seriously.

IIRC some recent bomb threats against Target stores were traced, not to deplorable MAGA types disgusted with their Pride Month agenda but to LGBTQ++ types ticked off at Target for backing down on their Pride Month agenda. So I can’t help but suspect that something similar was going on here — the bomb threats came from lefties trying to gin up sympathy for their cause and not from “domestic terrorist” parents.

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. Audio here.
