Shots fired! Police union boss calls Chicago mayor ‘piece of garbage’ for saying law enforcement a ‘sickness’ to be ‘eradicated’ – CWB Chicago

Also speaking out about the mayor’s comments, albeit in a more measured tone, is Cook County State’s Attorney Eileen O’Neill Burke. The county’s top prosecutor called Mayor Brandon Johnson’s statement “disappointing and disheartening.”

This mayor just told you who he is and what he believes in that statement. He believes law enforcement is a sickness. Did you get that CPD…this City government has not and does not have your back at all…in fact believes your service to protect the community is a sickness. Pathetic.

He has crossed the line from just being a moron to now dangerous.

He must have gone to the CPS to say things like he does. I bet he could not balance a check book.

Catanzara is spot on. One big irony though. His being unfit for police work, his abysmal track record of misbehavior and many suspensions during his time as a Chicago cop was exactly the kind of thing that fuels anti cop rage. The defund people of course want to throw the baby out with the bath water, never mind the resulting anarchy. A perverse irony that Catanzara being unfit to serve may also be exactly the kind of person the cops think they need battling the defund crowd.

Johnson should not be allowed to take money from police and fire budgets to support his lefty policies. He is mayor for all US citizens , not just the left, illegals, and criminals. He could give up some of his security detail.

I sure hope members of BJs security detail demand a transfer, it would be very difficult to protect someone with crazy ideology

Nothing but silence from phys ed instructor cum superintendent Snelling. Not a word of defense for the officers under his command, not even reconciliatory words. Like his useless predecessors, he is a company man and knows which side his DEI bread is buttered on.

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension.
