The poll found the highest level of support for the graduated income tax was in Chicago, with a 73% approval. In Chicago’s suburbs, 68% preferred the plan, and 55% had a favorable opinion Downstate.
Looks like the Illinois voters have swallowed the pablum the politicians have served up and like it. Watch them howl in the future when they find out, if history is any guide, that a lot of the new tax gains will not be spent on reducing the deficit and instead be spent on new vote buying programs not to mention how inflation will push everyone into the so called “rich” tax status after a decade or two.
