Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. The CTU handpicks (and delivers) Johnson. Johnson picks Snelling. And on down the line it goes. Soon, the CPD will be arresting little autistic girls for using the word lesbian under the CTU violation of not being gender inclusive.
I have no idea if the guy is qualified or not. But one of the biggest problems of affirmative action and these “merit” promotion programs is that the beneficiaries of the largesse are always harmed by having a cloud hanging over them– am I really this good or not? If he was so super qualified, why not take the promotion tests and pass them? We’ll know soon enough if he is any good at the job, but folks will always wonder if he should have been there in the first place.
Good luck to him, but he already knows he has no chance of impacting anything, he’s not kidding anyone really… This is a stop over job…couple of years…collect a boat load of money and benefits, increase his pension, then retire to the speaking circuit for a couple years…then move to Florida for Golf. Nothing new and nothing to see here.
He’s basically another diversity hire, promoted for political reasons and not experienced as a real beat cop. SecondCityCop points out he’s never even taken the exams to earn the rank he’s been given. Welcome to leftytown.
Second City Cop Pans Johnson’s Choice For New Police Superintendent – Second City Cop
Someone should ask Snelling to show his test results from his promotions to sergeant and lieutenant. He won’t because he has been promoted via the “merit” system. It isn’t about what you know it’s about who you know.
The Chicago Sun Times says Brandon Johnson wants to improve the morale of the Chicago Police. Does anybody believe this load of BS?
