Speaker Welch asks IL high court to toss ruling barring Dems from blocking many GOP candidates from fall ballot – Cook County Record

Attorneys for Illinois Speaker of the House Emanuel "Chris" Welch conceded the law may amount to a political "dirty trick" by Democrats, by changing election rules in the middle of an ongoing election cycle. But they argued lawmakers have the absolute right to make changes to laws regulating ballot access at just about any time, and courts have no authority to question lawmakers' decisions.

Lawmakers have the absolute right to change the system to suit them and the courts have no legal standing to challenge. Sounds about right for a progressive/ socialist/ communist government.

Such hubris the supermajority Democrat have. 50/ 50 chance the IL ‘High Court’ embarrasses itself for politics. No integrity of any sort in IL it seems.
