Springfield poised for economic boost with data center developments – WICS (Springfield)

Several companies are currently evaluating Springfield and Sangamon County for new data center projects, which could employ more than 50 people each and generate up to $50 million in annual property tax revenue. Larger projects could reach $73 million within the first decade.

So, what are the data centers going to be doing? AI…uh huh…ok, well that’s a giant subject. They can also be used by bad people to eliminate privacy to store, gather and analyze tons of information about citizens, images, video, movement of people, buying habits, bank accounts and to provide information to control movement, spending, product availability, etc. and why do we need one in every county? I know, I know…just nutball conspiracy theories…but this is extraordinary technology is coming at us pretty fast with few controls and could be used to manipulate and control the population. When my property taxes go down notably is when I will believe the buffoon we call our governor. It is not within his wheelhouse to master economics of a state. He needs to go.
