Staff of Chief Judge Timothy Evans was repeatedly warned of CTA fire attacker’s electronic monitoring violations, records show – CWB Chicago

In April, after Evans’ office assumed responsibility for the countywide electronic monitoring program, Cook County State’s Attorney Eileen O’Neill Burke told her staff in a memo that the chief judge’s office was not prepared for the job, making the program “a serious threat to public safety.” As of Nov. 21, there were 3,191 individuals on electronic monitoring with the Adult Probation Department.

SJW Evans was told he couldn’t handle this from jump, but the arrogant, criminal enabler shrugged that off with his typical Dem hubris. He knows what’s good for you. You don’t.

“In April, AFTER EVANS’ OFFICE ASSUMED RESPONSIBILITY for the countywide electronic monitoring program …” Emphasis added. The 2 separate monitoring programs in existence – one, a comparatively small program, barely administered by the Circuit Court under Evans, and the other much larger and administered by Cook County Sheriff – were both failures. Evans is technically an employee of the State. His salary is paid out of State funds. Wouldn’t you think the ankle unit would have a GPS that could show where the breaker of the rules is at all times. This would ensure a speedy arrest of the rule breaker and hopefully incarceration for original
crime along with the new.
