The greatest country on earth is fading away. The world outside the EU despises us, our country is falling apart, it’s getting uglier in many many ways. Few democracies last long and we’re beginning to crack. Black is white, 2 plus 2 is no longer 4 if you say so, laws now go outside what god and nature intended to serving masters. Elections are a farce, you thought 2020 was rigged just wait. The wife and I are in Yellowstone now traveling. People ask us where we’re from and we reply “unfortunately Illinois”, a few times they replied back “oh… Read more »

This is what the voters wanted. Most of the votes for Governor Pritzker in the last election came from Cook County. Pritzker spent over 350 million dollars of his own money on his campaign. I don’t want to hear complaints from Pritzker voters. If you don’t like what he’s doing too bad, you own it. You’re going down. Problem is, you’re taking me with you. And, yep, I’m angry.

I don’t want to discourage side hustles but if you have ordinary W2 income that means stability and benefits. Add your side hustles to that and usually you are better. While illegals, gangbangers, and others have no real income for the activities they do legally or illegally, the unfortunate reality is we can collect only minimal taxes from them. This makes a HNWI (High Net Worth Individual)like Ken Griffin very hard to replace. This would assume that other HNWI are moving to Illinois when data tells us otherwise. The state and the city sends millions per month to pensioners (some… Read more »

SO: enroll in Medicaid and work off the books and don’t pay any taxes or FICA. For a slight additional risk, apply for unemployment. Government (and its antique computers) can’t find its own employees scamming the system. I hear they got fired, but presumably will keep their pensions and get rehired soon enough. Bureaucrats wear their Kick Me signs on their foreheads.

“State politicians would rather Illinoisans stay on Medicaid rather than be independent and earning money without government help” That’s because so does Big Doc, and Big Pharm, and Big Hospital, and Big Public Employee Union, and Big Insurance (MCO’s). Because Big Taxpayer Bucks $$$ flow through Medicaid into these stakeholder’s pockets like a broad green river over a waterfall. Medicaid eligibility gets you a primary care doctor and specialists and a dentist-n-optomotrist and tons of counseling for anything, and physical therapy in your home, and transportation, and you can even get taxpayers to pay an unemployed family member to do… Read more »

How did Obama manage to get his name off this program?

This is not ObamaCare. Medicaid is free health insurance provided by state and supported by Fed for the indigent. (And in Illinois Illegal Aliens) Medicare is for age 65+. ObamaCare is private health care that is subsidized by state or Feds based upon income requirements. All of the above is being pushed upon us as a march toward socialized medicine.

1 Obamacare included the expansion of medicaid. 2 Medicaid reimbursement rates are awful, just terrible. It’s very difficult to make money as a hospital or doctor or facility relying solely on medicaid patients. Sure, the indigent and illegal get ‘free medical’ but it’s really the bare minimum. 3 I once had a dr friend of mine in a nicer suburb tell me that her practice doesn’t take medicaid, and if they did, they’d be the busiest practice in town, but, they’d lose money on every patient and eventually go bankrupt. 4 My son’s former pediatricians office, in Chicago of all… Read more »

Keeping people in the yoke of democrat oppression is the goal. Make them depend on handouts and guidance on every possible choice in life. Good sheeple, good sheeple.

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. Audio here.
