State Rep. Justin Slaughter wants to ban cops from enforcing traffic laws, including most speeding and expired plates – CWB Chicago

Slaughter’s legislation also states that any evidence of criminal wrongdoing discovered during a prohibited traffic stop cannot be used “in any trial, hearing, or other proceeding.” The evidence could not be used even if the driver permitted police to search their vehicle under the Slaughter’s proposal.

Looks like Slaughter has the munchies after all the pot he’s ingested. Pity JB the Hutt ate all the Doritos.

Stop electing stupid people, Illinois!

Drive around just about anywhere and you are risking your life. Speeding, disregarding stop signs and red lights, tailgating, drag racers, drunks all over. Stop enforcing traffic laws and it will be 10x worse. Only a democrat could think up something as stupid as this.

Yes, I heard a radio interviewee the other day describe ideas such as this: “going full libtard”. When someone proposes an utterly ridiculous law or idea, it’s “going full libtard”. It must be said very condescendingly too, imagine the tone when a liberal says “Trumpster”, you can immediately say, in that Tucker-esque fashion “at least we’re not going full libtard”

Here’s the infamous Motor Vehicle Death Rate by Race (per capita) showing the massive increase in death rate for black people after the 2020 racial reckoning and de-policing movement.

Rep. Slaughter, do you believe that banning police from enforcing traffic laws will lead to more, or less, Black traffic deaths?

Facts don’t matter, it’s all about how Mr. Slaughter feels.

Sums up DEI perfectly. Mr Slaughter should get diversity hire of the century award

I would disagree. Mr. Slaughter is not a diversity hire. He’s actually a successful politician who won all of his elections. Winning elections is not easy. Many try and few succeed. He’s merely giving his constituents what they want. I bet this law is quite popular among his constituents.

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. Audio here.
