“Pushing forward on a project that’s controversial, that nobody’s happy with, that’s pretty nakedly about the mayor getting an election year win and using resources that she thinks are available to create that win, is just offensive,” state Rep. Theresa Mah said. Mah had been among the strongest backers of the idea to build a new high school, spearheading a proposal in the General Assembly two years ago to secure $50 million in state funding.

School enrollments decline every year as families flee Chicago. Solution? Build yet another school that must be staffed and maintained for its insufficient enrollment.
The Illinois Republicans are dumb, but the Illinois Democrats are insane.

I’ve read articles on Wirepoints about so many CPS schools with extremely low enrollment but now there’s a proposal to spend $50 million for a new school. Insanity, but democrats run the show in Chicago. Amendment 1 passes and teachers will demand they be given a new home and vehicle of their choice every year.
