State rep wants to make it legal for people ‘appearing’ to have a mental episode to attack cops (It would still be illegal to attack firemen, like her husband) – CWB Chicago

State Rep. Lisa Davis’ legislation would only legalize attacks on peace officers. Attacking any of the other professions would remain illegal. When she’s not crafting legislation, Davis is a defense attorney in the Law Office of the Cook County Public Defender.

If I “appear ” to have a mental issue, can I attack an alderperson?

I make a motion that any IL lawmakers who “appear” to be insane based on their choice of proposed legislation, be immediately removed from office.

When ‘seconds’ count, the police are ‘minutes’ away…

Unless you or someone with you is having a ‘mental episode’ (whatever that is), then you’re on your own…

What the looney left wants is for police to show up, get attacked by a person having a ‘mental episode’ (again, whatever that is) and scream “run away-run away” like in the Monty Python skit…

Illinois: Electing it’s dumbest into office since 1848.

The recent proliferation of just completely insane progressive laws in Illinois over the previous six years of progressive rule has really been to the determent of the entire state. There are many areas of the state that are essentially poverty ridden hellholes akin to a mad max environment, where drugs are legal and prostitution is de facto legal, housing is ridiculously expensive because of absurd ‘tenant’s rights’ laws that give outrageous windfalls to tenant, illegal guns are everywhere and used all the time, and now they want to give crazy people the right to attack police. The only way to… Read more »

Great, give criminals another reason to get away with attacking law abiding citizens.

Did Reps Lisa Davis, Kelly Cassidy, and Marcus Evans sponsor this bill because a lot of their constituents have “mental health episodes”?

Kelly Cassidy should answer it.

Kelly is a walking mental health episode, because she is, for lack of a better description, possessed by Satan himself. There has never been such a degenerate, awful, terrible person in our legislature who wants to pass the worst laws in the country to harm society and culture. Kelly appears to hate humanity itself because no sensible person, who has any sense of decency, would introduce laws as crazy as this woman does.

Overreaction to the Sonya Massey case?

Exemplifies how many people in this state, especially those in elected positions, absolutely hate the police. I say pull the police out of select communities and let the savages deal with it themselves!

I cannot believe something like this is being proposed, this is absolutely insane and ridiculous what is wrong with Illinois politicians.

Again, time for LEO’s to wait outside for a violence interruptor, a social worker and higher ranking officers to be on scene before doing anything. Send Davis’ spouse into the breach first and let him deal with it.

Only if it would allow for the attacking of elected officials such as Lisa Davis under the guise of mental illness as well.

Ya know…after a while…of reading these crazy stories…you get climatized to the crazy. How in the world do these people ever get elected to anything? This is right up there with the stupidest legislative action ever. These people are also the first to wonder why the Police departments have a hard time recruiting and keeping officers…who the hell would want to be a Police officer under these insane rules. Lisa Davis needs to seek counseling.

Er, ah, no. Nope. Don’t even touch that concept with a 24 1/2 foot pole.

Mental Illness must be contagious for many Illinois pols. Definitely Demon possession.

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. Audio here.
