State Sen. Andrew Chesney suggests deportation to solve housing crisis – Rockford Register Star*

The Freeport Republican said deporting immigrants would leave behind vacant housing that could reduce demand and boost supply, potentially lowering costs and reducing pressure on the housing market.

I have noticed many vacant apartments in my area that have been occupied previously. The people behind my house picked up and left for I imagine their home in mexico.

There is already plenty of vacant housing. It requires investment to fix, which would build the economy by creating more housing stock, not repurposing existing stock.
