State Sen. Laura Murphy and State Rep. Maurice West: Ranked choice voting is the future. That’s why we’re bringing it to Illinois. – Chicago Tribune*

"Take Chicago’s mayor’s race as an example. The majority of voters did not cast their ballot for either Brandon Johnson or Paul Vallas in the February election. If Chicago voted with RCV, not only would there not have been an expensive runoff election, but it’s also conceivable that neither of these candidates would be mayor today."

Alaska and Nevada had problems with there RCV. Also in this article voting day is mentioned We have lost that day long ago. Look what happened in Pennsylvania ( senate race). So it’s not up to the voter to change, it will be decided by the parties not voters. Lastly can we not fix the problems we have before moving on to something else.

I know absolutely no one who is calling for ranked choice voting. But what I do hear a call for is Voter ID, no drop boxes and the only mail in ballots are requested absentee ballots that are verified. Of course not one of the asked for items is being considered by Democrats who enjoy rigging the game.

If Democrats support it then it’s an undemocratic scam.

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension.
