This statement from Vermilion County State’s Attorney Jacqueline Lacy says, in part, "I firmly believe that this decision will be a detriment to the criminal justice system and the People of Vermilion County...(T)he legislature has now been given the power to change the Illinois Constitution without putting forth a referendum to the voters of the State of Illinois."
Ms Lacy probably has forgotten more about law than Raoul understood. Affirmative Action vs hard work, intelligence and purpose. The difference is amazing. In a duel of wits, Lacy v Raoul, Raoul would be unarmed.

States attorneys are going to find ways to get around the purge law — just like Fake Prosecutor Crimesha Foxx found ways to not do her job
They’re going to overcharge every defendants and hold them as long as they can. I predicted this a year ago. In Cook/Lake/Sangamon County Defendants will go free; but in the rest of the state, they’re gonna charge a violent felony, stretching the law as thin as they can, in every case, just to hold the perp without bail. Keep in mind the law of unintended consequences. A largely unasked question is becoming glaring: Is Illinois doing all it should to use artificial intelligence to make government cost less and work better? So far, the evidence says no.
