Agree that students should keep their politics to themselves when applying for a job – however I do not agree with the targeting of students who are standing up for Palestine, but students who stand up for BLM, LGBTQ or Israel are not being targeted. Your enemies have no principles and neither should you, unless you want to lose badly. A democrat leaning employer would fire you in an instant if they knew you supported Trump. You should rejoice when your enemies are held to their own standard.
The media likes to portray Jinan Chehade as the poor Lebanese American girl targeted for her views. A google search of her will bring up sympathetic articles from all the typical left wing media outlets. You do a deeper dive you’ll find out that she helped lead a smear campaign against a pro Israel professor. Sometimes karma is a bitch.
My point is that we have a 1st amendment freedom of speech in this Country. It does not matter whether you like the person or are taking the side of one group over another – We have not seen others being discriminated against for supporting BLM, LGBTQ, Ukraine, Abortion, DEI, ESG, White Supremacy, etc…. Actions have consequences. Might as well learn it while you’re young. If you don’t like it, start your own company. Otherwise, keep your politics to yourself. Nobody wants to hear your voice.
A largely unasked question is becoming glaring: Is Illinois doing all it should to use artificial intelligence to make government cost less and work better? So far, the evidence says no.
