Suburban College Student Dies by Suicide After Struggling With Isolation – NBC Chicago

An 18-year-old University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign freshman died by suicide in October while grappling with isolation brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic, his family said. Now, his mother is sharing her family's tragic story in hope of sparing others from similar heartbreak.

Saying prayers for this family. And prayers to keep the rest of us strong. Absolutely senseless to lose kids because of the isolation caused by this virus. The restrictions, random lockdowns and fiefdom have to end.

No, it’s not all Pritzker’s doing. UIUC could have chosen to do more face to face classes but did not do so. Some kids had no face to face classes. There is very little to do in the dorms or anywhere on campus or anywhere in town. Some kids find a way to party, some don’t or don’t want to.
