Supreme Court to hear challenge to IL mail-in votes law – Legal Newsline

The lawsuit took aim at a law enacted by Illinois' Democratic legislative supermajority in Springfield and Gov. JB Pritzker in 2020. That law had used the Covid pandemic to justify rewriting the state's election laws to greatly expand mail-in voting in Illinois. Illinois Democrats have noted in court filings that striking down the law would make it more difficult for Democrats to win elections, as Democrats disproportionately vote by mail, compared to Republicans and other voters.

‘…Democrats disproportionately vote by mail..’

Everyone knows mail-in ballots are needed for Democrat ballot harvesting. This ‘defense’ is comical.

No mail in ballots should be able to be counted after the polls close. That way the Democrats cannot see how many votes they need to win. Voter ID should be mandatory. Proof of citizenship should be mandatory. The Secretary of State should be required to notify the election board when someone changes the address on their license 2 business days after the change. It would be a good thing to tighten up elections. I would go further.

Election on election day
Voting in person
Voter ID required
Deployed military may receive absentee ballots
Ballots must be in by the close of in-person voting on Election Day

Missing any of the above only enables the cheaters.

How much proven actual cheating has happened using the methods you wish to restrict?

Explain the Democrats’ claim that even Illinois’ gerrymandered districts might not be enough for them to win elections without a huge window for ballot harvesting.

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. Audio here.
