Surging prices spur talks of repealing Illinois’ gasoline tax – Center Square

While in office, Gov. JB Pritzker has been an advocate of the green and environmental movements and their policies. Wednesday, he was asked what can be done about surging gas prices. “I guess if you can find any silver lining it might be that people will more likely choose when they go to buy a new car to go to electric,” Pritzker said.

This whole pain at the pump can be attributed to policies from both parties. The Democrats in office are not offering solutions for rising fuel prices which they believe will accelerate the Green New Deal agenda. The Republicans which are mostly connected to big energy are keeping wells closed and prices up so that it will favor them in the mid-term elections. Politics as usual.

They just never think of the long term effects of electric. Blizzards, tornados, any natural disaster. What will people do? Just sit there? And does JB travel back and forth to FL with his family in an EV?

I have a bass boat and travel to compete in bass tournaments. No way I’m relying on an electric truck while planning my trips.

The arrogant fat pig of a governor making a statement that people should buy electric to avoid punishing gas taxes sums up the democraps. Screw you peons!

No doubt a perfect illustration of how out-of-touch the elites are.

Talk about an elitist attitude!

This is an absolute insult to hardworking Americans. At a time when inflation is killing the average family and there is a shortage of new vehicles to begin with, the liberal elitist Pritzker tells people high gas prices are their fault because they don’t drive electric. Newsflash for you King Pritzker, people don’t want and can’t afford electric vehicles. So now Mr. Climate Change is going to taunt Americans at the gas pump? I hope Richard Irvin gets ahold of this sound clip and uses it all summer long. Billionaire Pritzker is tone deaf.

I hope Richard Irvin gets a hold if this sound clip, well I’m really losing confidence in the Republicans in Illinois they are sitting back and being tone deaf. Irvin’s campaign commercials are absolutely horrible. I want to hear sound ideas from him and the Republicans about what is going to be done about all these ridiculous highs taxes in this damn state, especially property taxes. There has been not one offering by any Republican candidate running for office how they propose to handle the out of control taxes, I can see it down the road welcome to the state… Read more »

Irvin, if elected, can only do one thing: veto progressive legislation. And pray that a supermajority legislature doesn’t override it. And not again impose strict covid lockdowns. Maybe there’s some executive orders in there but the entire springfield and chicago bureaucracy will ignore it.

That’s the political reality on the ground. It’s a sad place to be but this is a long, grinding war against 40 years of democrat majorities in springfield. Baby steps.
