It is being misdirected, as a typical Pritzkeresque tactic, away from the primary issue (how to get public money steered to private interests) to being a ‘social justice’ issue. The point isn’t child welfare, the point is: should society be forced to pay for fulfilling some one individuals’ heart’s desire? Everyone has heart’s desires. Achieving many still must be self-funded. Achieving a few, which can be monetized by Pritzkereques, can become ‘rights’ and thus force-funded by society.
