Tammy Duckworth ‘Shocked’ After Another Manufacturer Leaves Democrat-Run State for Texas – Washington Free Beacon

"I’m shocked and disappointed by Caterpillar’s decision to move its HQ from Illinois," U.S. Sen. Tammy Duckworth said on Twitter. Duckworth has advocated policies unfriendly to business as a senator. In March, she called for a federal "tax on excessive profits" by oil companies.

Duckworth, like all politicians, has no real day-to-day responsibilities other than to show up at places she is told to go to. Since she has all this free time, what are the 10 policy items she has worked on or legislated (joke) benefiting Illinois corporations? How many Illinois CEO’s has she met with, and what are the concerns of the CEO’s that she has acted upon? Has she taken the 10 top concerns of Illinois corporations and compared how Illinois and Texas address these concerns? Now that she is “shocked” that Caterpillar is leaving, what is she doing to keep… Read more »

Duckworth is mostly upset a deep pocketed sap has left. Fewer business mark’s for Democrats to abuse in IL.

Tammy, with all due respect to your service, you are not equipped for this job. Each day you only embarrass yourself more.

Would’ve expected you to be at least capable of recognizing the old, “shut up and just watch” approach would work…

Just the beginning….and our national US reps do nothing to reign in our Illinois politicians. No material movement on public pensions/medical and Ill/Chicago political corruption—and Ill/Chicago collapse accelerates.

Unbelievable…but the non public union taxpayers are increasingly aware and eventually things will change in Illinois. Non public union taxpayers have had enough.

I’m sure Cat will follow through on its promise to hire more Illinoisians. Of course, they will take their high income jobs and move to Texas as soon as they can.

I thank Senator Duckworth for her military service. It’s been all downhill after that. I wonder if she is able to make any connection between the votes she casts and the subsequent impact of those votes. The fact that she is “shocked” suggests she isn’t. She’s another example of someone who thinks citizens and businesses exist to support government instead of the other way around. She will be in political office the rest of her life for all the wrong reasons.

Duckworth is the worst of the low-information, virtue signaling frauds that make up the Democrat party

I’m sad to admit I actually voted for her the first time. Military service, pilot, seemed like a very smart lady….then it was clear she was everything you listed

There’s no excuse for ever voting D at a statewide level.

Tammy Duckworth exemplifies Illinois itself. Her irrational politics, her extreme partisanship, her nasty and condescending tone, and most importantly, her stupidity and stubbornness. A female Rich Miller. She shares these same personality flaw and moral failures with her voters. That’s why Illinoisians love her so much. All 3,000,000 of her voters who look at her and say to themselves, “Yup! I want more of this garbled nonsense. She’s some minority or another so she’s good enough.”

Is there a MALE version of Rich Miller — I am only aware of the fat, beta-cuck,
Brian-Stelter-esque, man-bitch version of Rich Miller.

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension.
