Tears, fears — but few details — in wake of immigration sweeps across Chicago area – Chicago Sun-Times

“It’s been approximately two weeks since my kids have been in school,” said a Venezuelan woman who lives on the South Side with her husband and five children, and asked not to be named to keep her family safe. “I fear leaving my home, or riding the bus with them. What if I get caught on the way or right outside the school?” Chicago Public Schools has not shared attendance records since school began last week, but teachers say some immigrant students are not showing up.

I need more information. When did this woman and her family arrive? How did they find a home? What is their current source of income? How much financial assistance did they receive, and from whom? How long did she plan to get away with her crime of entering the country illegally? So many questions.

Ma’am, I do not believe you should have to be so scared. You are way down on the priority list for Law enforcement. They have plenty of violent criminals and bad guys to chase and deport before they get to your level. But YOU need to get the process of becoming a legal Citizen of this Country started and complete so you do not have to live in fear. But, if you do not, your deportation or penalty, is not anyone’s fault but your own.
