The Blue State Population Bust – Wall Street Journal

If recent trends in population growth and migration continue, the Brennan Center projects that Texas would gain four seats, Florida three, and Georgia, Arizona, Utah, North Carolina and Idaho one each in the reapportionment after the 2030 Census. California would lose four, and New York two. Oregon, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Pennsylvania and Rhode Island would give up one apiece.

This remains to be seen. If Democrats are in control of the census in 2030, you should expect completely fabricated census figures, much like how the Soviets and the CCP lie about all their official government figures. The Democrat president in 2030 will appoint a loyal apparatchik to contort the numbers every which way possible to ensure that blue states gain population and red states lose. As Stalin once said, it’s all about who does the counting. Biden’s Bureau of Labor Statistics appointee was completely fabricating economic figures early in Trump’s second term to make Trump look bad. Trump fired… Read more »

And now you know why Democrats want all people counted in the census, whether or not they are legal residents of the US.

The problems with Florida are still overpriced real estate, hurricanes, and unaffordable property insurance. Nobody can realistically afford 10K + a year for homeowners insurance. I left after Ian and a lot of others did as well. I’ve had to quit driving like a Chicago driver here in the south 🙁

My buddy in Destin carrying costs, property taxes + insurance, are $30,000 per year.

My carrying costs in Denver are $9,000 per year.

I’m not moving to FL nor IL!!

I actually don’t mind seeing the once great state of Illinois lose influence. The less influence it can have the better. It will take a complete cure of DTS to change the ever-growing leftist thinking and maybe, just maybe, a little modesty served up by a declining population will serve the dems well.

No one wants to be enslaved to the taxman. No one minds paying their “Fair Share”, but the major cities are run by public sector unions who think the big slice of the pie is not big enough and want even more. No one likes to be gouged, so they flee and the greedy get nothing.

Nonsense. Didn’t Illinois just gain population. Yeah they were all illegals but to demfilth a body is a body. Yeah, the wealthy have all left, but a body is a body for the sole purpose of maintaining control. Once in control, you can always lie, steal and cheat to get the low IQ mopes remaining to pony up more money for your personal procurement. And to the rest of America looking in, saying your population is low IQ is a massive understatement.

Spot on Free. To a Dem losing a taxpaying privately employed US citizen and replacing him with an illegal alien welfare dependant is a win.

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. Audio here.
