Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. I suspect that many campaign finance laws have been violated by these terrorists. Bust CTU.
Bust them??? Man are you delusional. They are one step away from sitting in the mayors office. This really sets the table for the full school board vote in 2027.
Clearly a large portion of the voters in Chicago want this.
PPF – I don’t like to hear it, but I think you have a point. Even if the union is prosecuted for campaign violations – unthinkable in corrupt Chicago – they would not be broken and have the wind at their back with Amendment !. Some of the rank and file can’t be pleased at the campaign spending but these members will not raise a strident objection for fear of whatever “ism” they may be accused of. The kicker is that school enrollment will continue to decline precipitously but neither the union or CPS cares. They will look at the… Read more »
I guess, if 20% of the 30% turnout is a “large portion”. For graduates of CPS, that is 6% of the voters.
Lightfoot beat Preckwinkle because Preckwinkle was the Vermin Teachers Union candidate. Period. Vallas will beat Johnson because Johnson is the Vermin Teachers Union candidate. Period. Despite the delusions of a significant percentage of Chicago voters, enough undeluded Chicago voters understand that CTU is an existential threat to the City of Chicago that the CTU candidate can’t win election. The miserable performance of 1 in 6 CTU students functioning at grade level cuts across all racial lines in the city and can’t be hidden from parents. Plus, the teachers union has poisoned the pond with their disgusting pandemic actions (or inaction… Read more »
“Despite the delusions of a significant percentage of Chicago voters, enough undeluded Chicago voters understand that CTU is an existential threat to the City of Chicago that the CTU candidate can’t win election.” Odd flex considering 72% of cook county voted for Amendment 1. As I’ve state before, I don’t think Johnson wins but that doesn’t mean the people of Chicago don’t support the teachers. It just means they don’t want all of his new taxes and his soft on crime stance. If CTU was truly hated as you state, then the next contract negotiation should be easy for Vallas… Read more »
I wouldn’t be too sure about Johnson not winning. CTU is powerful and highly organized as evidenced by their minions flooding every precinct in Chicago, making their candidate known. They will double down now, hurling every -ism and phobia known to man against Vallas, regardless if it’s true or false. Who will the media favor?
The woke Pravda media is fully owned by the far left so they will naturally favor Johnson. That’s not a question. But enough of the population is realizing that the Pravda media is the propaganda arm of the Democrat party that they are no longer believable and that in fact whatever they are pushing is likely the opposite of the truth.
If crime was under control I would think Johnson has a better chance. Somehow, I don’t think the people that voted for Wilson, who wanted to chase criminals down like rabbits, are going to move their votes to the Johnson column just because of skin tone. Many of these older black people are tired of the crime and desperately want law and order. Jesse White is the first domino to fall for Vallas. More will follow. With all that said, I do think Johnson has a chance and it wouldn’t be that big of a surprise if he does win.… Read more »
Amendment 1 won because: 1. Ken Griffin’s money is gone and there was zero opposition. 2 The secretary of state failed to mail amendment language to the voters and insted mailed a postcard with a link to a website. A clear violation of the IL constitution. 3. The IL Secy of State website was MASSIVELY biased, false and blatantly untruthful. 4. Who doesn’t support Workers Rights unless you are smart enough to understand that the title is a massive lie? 5. Amendment 1 isnt in the clear yet. There are multiple lawsuits against this clown legislation for many reasons including… Read more »
So 72% of cook county would have been swayed by Ken? Sure they would have. All those voters sitting at home just waiting to research before the next election. If only that could be done on the internet. But you’re right, I’m sure that would have made a difference. All the major news media came out against it and it still didn’t move the needle. They posted the approved language as required by law. Just because they didn’t complain about it doesn’t mean it was biased. Your for workers rights unless it means it’s going to cost you as a… Read more »
