Curious. Illinois has a 2 party consent law. Both parties must give consent to record conversations. How will this factor in all those who had wires on? Will this be inadmissible evidence or does Federal law override state law?

Unless one lives under a rock, it’s an open secret that the NSA records every phone call, every email, every text, every website you visit…every single electronic communication (and postal letters are all photographed and saved) in the USA (and most of the world.) Your cell phone’s whereabouts are also captured and stored, in perpetuity. Those who have the keys to this data are privy to essentially every criminal conspiracy in the nation. Even if you pay cash for a burner, the SN of the phone is recorded when it’s rung at the register so it’s easy for the spooks to get the video showing your face buying it. They probably have a real time video feed anyway.

Don’t forget, Cullerton is the godfather to Madigan’s only son. How’s that for Illinois politics. The leader of one branch of the legislature is tied by family and religious bonds to the leader of the other branch. Sort of like crime families intermarrying back in the old country.
