Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. Audio here.
If I’m an Illinois business I assume even if my worker is out of state I need a contract – bad for Illinois business. If I’m an out of state employer and want to hire someone from Illinois I assume I need a contract – bad for Illinois workers. Shining example of another Illinois lose-lose policy.
But GREAT biz for $Illinois Lawyers$ who will get to write & litigate all those contracts….and that’s what counts
A lot of these bills like this one are dreamed up in DC or Calf and then peddled here to see if they stick. Guzzardi’s another one of these carpetbagger fake progressives who moved here from somewhere else to set up shop riding the coattails of the old school-‘where’s mine’ aging machine. Same as sharkey, gates, tonie, and endless others. Lori tried to get in on the hustle but got burned…I honestly think she believed in what she was doing which was her first mistake.
These ideas bounce around progressive Twitter first before being drafted into bills. Our legislation is being driven by the most insane people on social media looking to out-progressive each other for virtue signaling points and clout.
Yup, and all those lib news media writers types hang out on the same Twitter sites as guizzadi…they’re all the same people, disconnected from reality or an economy where goods & services have value. They’ve never run a business or anything.
Another factory for all the progressive crazy ideas are top universities with declining student enrollment. The whole diversity/equity racket is seen as a big growth opportunity
Every Blue state is going crazy progressive these past two years, passing even whackier and increasingly insane legislation. It will become obvious before the end of the decade how awfully damaging Democrat policies are. There’s a big storm on the horizon, with a recession coming, with looming state and city financial crises coming from loss of corporate revenue and a commercial real estate collapse, with the housing bubble 2.0 right behind that. By 2030 the mood of the country might change as things in Blue states become readily obvious that even Democrats can’t ignore.
Run for your economic life. Texas and Florida are business friendly.
Guzzardi is a low-information Marxist fart-clown that hates free enterprise — and wants incompetent democrats to micro-mis-manage all aspects of the economy
More job killing legislation tailer made for $Illinois Trial Lawyers Association$….and progressive left best friends
This overreach will never stop, will it?
This world is truly broken. Corrupt politicians and bureaucrats with their institutions behind them.
Governments do not create wealth; private businesses do.
47% of working people in my City work for Government.
Says it all really.
Whenever you see a photo of that legislator, Guzzardi, be terrified.
