“People want to feel that there is stability, transparency and accountability when it comes to the governing board for their schools,” said state Rep. Ann Williams, who led a working group to implement the new board model and helped draw maps for the city’s 10 voting districts. “It feels like the proper level of scrutiny and concern is not being paid to this very important level of government at a time where it’s getting lots of attention.”
A largely unasked question is becoming glaring: Is Illinois doing all it should to use artificial intelligence to make government cost less and work better? So far, the evidence says no.
