There is no room for any different interpretation of Obama’s words. In an interview Friday and now made public, President Obama encouraged illegal immigrants to vote and assured them that no repercussions would follow. The complete interview with actress Gina Rodriguez is linked here. The relevant portion starts at the 3:20 mark. I’ve tried to avoid writing about the presidential election, but this is far too much to ignore.
I never thought I would see the day when an American president would do such a thing, or when the press would ignore anything so grave.
God help us.

The state’s existing buyout program for its own pensions is the precedent for Chicago, which should be a warning: Look out for similar exaggerated claims and shoddy analysis.
And yet it still wasn’t enough. Ha ha. No ambassador post for Rahm.
Here is another Democrat Get Out the Vote effort. On November 4, 2016, Jay Z, his wife Beyonce, and others performed at Cleveland State’s Wolstein Center in a free GOTV concert that included speeches. The event drew 7,000. Plenty of sanitized press coverage but the following video shows the rest of the story including profane laced clips from the concert. Unfortunately the video tosses in some bizarre stuff about Spirit Dinners and clips from past concerts, but it’s evident which clips are from the aforementioned Jay Z for Hillary event. Apparently Hillary is fine with vulgar language, provided it is… Read more »
I can vote as my neighbor if I get to the polling place before he does and if I can roughly draw out his signature which I can see on the tear card. All these problems become non issues or low percentage problems if official id’s are checked.
He has clearly wanted us to be a banana republic, ignoring laws, creating havoc, discontent , financial havoc with annual trillion dollar deficits. All those are precursors to the major , major changes he wants — and part of the playbook of Saul Alinsky from Chicago, and the two nutcase Marxist professors at Columbia University where he transferred after 2 yrs at Occidental College. God help us if Hillary gets the chance to finish the job, her 90 page Sr thesis was on her hero Alinsky

That’s an interpretation that’s a huge stretch. Rodriquez prefaced her question by clearly stating who she was asking about: “millennials, Dreamers, undocumented citizens — and I call them citizens because they contribute to this country — are fearful of voting.” It’s conceivable she meant to be asking about legal citizens voting who might fear retribution against undocumented family member, but that’s hard to believe given her clear words that made a special point to include non-citizens who are fearful of voting. And Obama is very careful about words. It would be very hard for me to believe that he heard… Read more »
The word “undocumented citizens” should not ever be used.
The proper word is undocumented immigrant.
Changing the term from undocumented immigrants to undocumented citizen does not change their contribution to this country.
It’s the use of that inappropriate phrase which resulted in ambiguity.
No doubt some use the word undocumented citizen as a bridge to citizenship.
They are already citizens, they just need documentation.
Do you see any ambiguity in what Dreamer means?
No.

Clinton campaign enlists undocumented ‘Dreamers’ for voter registration drive

Mike, that link shows Hillary clearly would like nearly 1 million ILLEGALS to go door-to-door to sign up LEGALS to vote. Tho not illegal to do that, it’s an odd request or her campaign, but nothing surprises us about Hillary and her staff. This Rodriguez woman clearly is referring to illegals, and she states clearly that SHE believes ANYONE who ‘contributes’ to society are citizens, which, then Obama did not dispute — he WANTS them to be citizens IMMEDIATELY by executive fiat if possible but he hasn’t shouted that out yet. But she asks the question flat-out about ‘undocumenteds’ fearful… Read more »
Both stories are part of a Get Out The Vote drive and they are mangling the English language in the process.
We will soon see how permanently mangled our country is. It was a bad sign in ’12, the re-election of a semisocialist, constitution-shredder, compulsive liar. We now have someone equally horrendous with all those qualities absolutely known by most people who’ve been awake the past year. We’re at a crossroads, and so is Chicago by the way, thank goodness for Mark for waking SOME people up. Unfortunately the main media has kept their rose-colored Dem glasses on
Mike, your post shows Hillary wants almost a million of young illegals to go door-to-door to incite citizens to register to vote. That’s not illegal, but it’s frightening, just as most things Hillary says and does. Rodriguez described clearly that SHE considers illegals to be citizens if they’re “contributing” to the country. Obama should have corrected her right there, but her question was clearly that if she/the “undocumented”, goes to vote, will the govt track her down at her house and deport her or her family? And OF COURSE Obama’s agenda is NOT to deport, so he answered basically, yeah… Read more »
Mark: Under your interpretation … what does the part of the discussion quoted below mean? Clearly Obama is noting that there are people who can’t legally vote and people who can. And he is directing his comments to those who legally can vote … and encouraging them to speak on behalf of those who do not have a vote. While you can argue that Obama is “excusing” undocumented immigrants, I think in full context it is difficult to say that he’s encouraging undocumented immigrants to vote. OBAMA: And the reason that fear is promoted is because they don’t want people… Read more »
To me it means that, after the initial exchange where he far more clearly did indicate that illegals should vote, he decided he better muddy the water a bit. He chooses words very carefully. I’ve shown the entire interview to a number of objective people who I respect and they all agree about what Obama was trying to do here. More importantly, this interview has gotten national attention and was blasted by a few in the media as well as at least one governor and one senator. Obama has issued no clarification of what he meant.
