Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. Here is an alternative to masks. Probably still not enough protection if you ask JB but it reduces the chance of getting and spreading Covid. Downside is it’s not easy getting in and out of your car.

I was out and about at an large, outdoor park suburban park today and probably 90% of people were wearing N95 masks outdoors with 40 mph wind gusts. Complete crazy town. Entire families going for a walk in nature wearing a mask. It is a virtue signal no different than a MAGA hat.
Well hope you weren’t having a dream but me and wife were out and about at local store’s restaurant, big box stores and to my happiness mask were nonexistent.
A lot more uncomfortable than a MAGA hat, but I think that is part of the virtue-signal.
Except in MAGA country people won’t get up in your face and yell for you to put a red hat on. Your observation proves you have chosen to live among the crazies.
Kind of, it was a bit of a drive to get there. There’s masks but not too many N95’s where I live.
Here’s a simple solution: stop wearing masks. I stopped wearing one about three weeks ago and have been challenged only once in that time. At that point my decision was simple: leave or comply and check out. No brainer.
It was supposed to be a fight against a pandemic to protect the people, but has become a fight against the people to protect the pandemic.
That’s a great way to express what’s going on.
