Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. $132M to run a state with $200B unfunded state pension and retiree healthcare liabilities. The $200B assumes the projected actuarial assumptions do materialize in the future, noteworthy as taxpayers are responsible for 100% of the unfunded liability regardless if the assumptions do or do not materialize. At last check the forecasted damages from the recent Hurricane Ian could be below $200B. The following from an October 16, 2022 article in Maritime Executive. “Preliminary property damage estimates for Ian so far range from $42 billion to as much as $258 billion, with some landing in the middle. If the higher end of the estimates proves… Read more »
I often talk about voter fraud, and you’re looking at it right now. This money is the ‘bag’ that gets distributed in D+95 districts to produce voter turnout higher that would make Putin blush with embarrassment. That $132,000,000 is going somewhere and it is lining the pockets of ballot harvesters and community activists to collect votes. They call it ‘The Bag’. This is not my word, this is directly from JB’s primary candidate. https://patch.com/illinois/chicago/untold-story-beverly-miles-ignored-campaign-il-governor Brought ‘The Bag’ Early Miles said she met nothing but opposition from politicos with their finger on the pulse of Black communities in Chicago. “A lot… Read more »
So paying campaign workers more than the other campaign is fraud? No debtsor, that’s just good old fashioned capitalism where workers are trading their labor for a higher price.
What are you? Some kind of communist?
LOL there’s a reason the JB money is called “The Bag” and canvassers hustle to ‘earn’ it.

Election fraud Chicago style: Illinois’ decades-old notoriety for election corruption is legendary
I guess that’s what happens when you sit around life waiting for your handout. You lose the ability to think critically.
You sound like you’re projecting. Is it fraud to pay $10 per signature rather than $5? Has anyone been arrested for this horrible crime of paying campaign workers this new higher rate? No you say. That’s because it’s not fraud. Just because you want it to be doesn’t mean you are thinking critically. Instead you are using the lowest form of intellect by repeating party line BS while believing you’re somehow more knowledgeable than everyone else.
Arrogantly ignorant is the perfect description for you. The good news is that you are clearly not alone.
“Arrogantly ignorant is the perfect description for you.”
LOL, the ignorant and naive guy thinks the bag of $10 per signature was for signatures…
Just like back in 2019, before cannabis was legalized, I’d walk into a shady gas station, and behind the counter would be all these glass pipes and bons, with the disclaimer “for tobacco use only”

This is illuminating. Can we read it as a measly $200K economic vote from the public? Also, what’s his return on investment here? I know of a few projects that his family members and their respective vehicles are involved in. I can’t comment further without doing research and, unsurprisingly, Google is a brick wall and this is a story within itself.
From my perspective it looks like he and his family members are setting this up for a payback with green energy federal $$ and lucrative state contracts.

Did the $132 million JB that jb is self financing his campaign with include the $24 million he spent choosing his opponent– bailey? he’s also put untold $millions into other state dem races to date
Pritzker spent approx $150-$175M to get elected the first time and now $132.1M so for of $307M total. Let that sink in for a moment. Almost 1/3rd of a BILLION. Yet somehow he figured out a way to justify to saving over $300K in property taxes by ripping the toilets out of one of his mansions. NOT the all plumbing just the toilets. The sinks-showers-bathtubs-faucets-dishwasher-washing machine were still in working order. The water to the entire mansion was not shut off. The taxes he saved were made up from other taxpayers in the form of higher taxes albeit just a… Read more »
