‘This ends today:’ DOJ asks court to block IL, Chicago, Cook County from using ‘Sanctuary’ laws to hinder deportation of criminals – Cook County Record

The laws and ordinances targeted by the lawsuit include the state's so-called Way Forward Act and TRUST Act, as well as Chicago's "Welcoming City" ordinance and its equivalent enacted by Cook County. In the lawsuit, the Justice Department asserts state and local officials are using the laws to effectively thumb their noses at federal law enforcement - but only when federal agents are attempting to enforce immigration laws.

“Trumpy is only deporting non-criminals.”

This is exactly what I voted for! Did you know that ICE estimates that 10% of all Polish nationals in Chicago are illegals? SEND THEM ALL HOME TOO LOL

I’d like to see Pam Bondi hold a press conference in Chicago to appeal directly to citizens who have been victims of the illegals. It would be epic if she came to town to let the citizens know that help is on the way. The added benefit would be that all the crazy protesters melting down would make for great national news coverage. Flip Chicago red!

Deport them. Every time a cherry picked DEM judge tries to delay it, file another slightly different EO and ignore that judge.

Do this until SCOTUS actually rules against you. No lower level court should act as a JUDGE for the entire nation.

Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker, Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson worst of the worst.

It would be ironic if Chicago ends up being the precedent for the government to sue all of the other cities and states trying to protect illegals based on their outrageous neglect of the law. We should put welcome signs up for Bondi and Noem.

So JB doubles down on his smugly self satisfied and ironic phrase: “if you come for my people, you come through me”. I wonder if he will remain a jelly wall when in a jail cell and has missed a meal. Democrats are OK with depressing Illinois citizens wages with criminal illegal aliens stealing their jobs in the hope that they will become welfare citizens dependent upon the government and vote for Democrats forever. What a sick, twisted, perverted goal. Disgusting.

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension.
