Thousands of Illinois Drivers Would Get Their Licenses Back Under a Criminal Justice Reform Bill – ProPublica Illinois

A spokesman for the secretary of state said there are about 500,000 holds on licenses over traffic debt, although one person can have multiple holds. State officials could not immediately say how many individual drivers have lost their licenses.

Of course the south, west sides, and the latin x population will not pay their fines and drive high anyway. Lori needs their votes so they will not have to pay. And they all drive without licenses or insurance anyway. Thanks blm for destroying Chicago and Illinois.

Here’s the deal: Chicago has a very onerous traffic and parking laws. There’s cameras everywhere that automatically ticket drivers and the parking restrictions are practically insane. I’ve never seen anywhere like it. And the fines for violations are outrageous, in the hundreds of dollars, and they double if you don’t pay the fines in 21 days. It’s nearly impossible to park on the street because the restrictions are arbitrary and the red light tickets are crazy because they shorten the yellow lights to….give more tickets. I’d guess that probably 95 or 96 out of 100 people who’ve had their license suspended for parking tickets or red light tickets live or drive in Chicago. Just another reason to stay the heck out of Chicago.
