Thousands of youths at risk of losing access to after-school programs – Capitol News IL

The programs that are at risk receive federal funding from the U.S. Department of Education. But it’s the Illinois State Board of Education that awards grants to local programs. The problem now is that in 2023, ISBE miscalculated how much money was available and made commitments to award more grants than the state could fund. Advocates are seeking $50 million in state funding to make up for the anticipated shortfall.

Any available money has already been given to the illegal aliens in the city and state. Time for some program cuts.
