Two years after an executive order created a committee to address the opioid crisis in IllinoisThe Overdose action Plan takes a holistic look at how “social determinants,” such as hunger, poverty, homelessness and unemployment, disparately impact the health of marginalized communities, Jones said, which can increase overdose rates.

I know more people died of OD,than covid. Chances are if it wasn’t for covid,and everything that followed,shut downs, loss of business, depression,stolen election, open border,fentanyl trafficing they would still be alive. To some od death is just a form of suicide,as is drinking till you kill your liver.

Waste of money. Junkies are junkies because they want to be. Drug education and rehabilitation have a success rate of somewhere between a few and hardly any. Millions and millions have been wasted on trying to cure the junkie mindset with little rewards. Wasting more money is not going to improve the situation.

EO was dated Jan 2020 and deaths go up significantly in 2020. Thats JB’s leadership. No data on IDPH website for 2021. Can the tribune provide that information or at least ask the question? Next question, what will this new action result in 2022 for starters.
