To Make Obama Presidential Center Succeed, Local Business Leaders Must Support It, Former President Says Ahead Of Construction – Block Club Chicago

“We need the Chicago business community to feel ownership for helping to get this done, because that’s how great civic projects in Chicago — like Millennium Park, like the Art Institute — that’s how we’ve historically gotten things done,” President Obama said. “I hope this will be no different.”

Wow. Not only does Chicago City Hall deliver this Obama Boondoggle’s land site for free, and in doing so, violate a bunch of public land laws and deed restrictions, but now we taxpayers are also required to actually financially support it out of our own pocketbooks too? Obama should stay in wherever he’s ensconced, and keep Jarrett locked in the basement, but guys, leave us poor Chicago taxpayers alone.

Valjar is president of this Thing. Why not connive a way to put Kamala in charge. Give it to someone expected to fail. Kamala would go nuts! The border and now this mess! It would also make certain she never sets foot in Chicago.

Water Tower Place is available at discount rates. It would make a fine, centrally located, virtual Presidential mausoleum. Nikes available nearby. Win-win for the business community.

What Val and O don’t understand is, “Nobody cares”! Ownership of a boondoggle! Where do I sign up! It could be virtual…LoL. Zoom pirates screaming obscenities and gang slogans. Put it in a strip mall next to a Laundromat.

LoL!

Love it.

It will never succeed. As you say another boondoggle. Waste of money.

What did President Obama actually do during his tenure to deserve this?

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension.
