“Lake, Kendall, Macon, Rock Island, Winnebago and Will Counties in Illinois all among the top ten nationally.”
Having lived in Will County before we left Silly-nois, all I can say is “No Foolin’!”

Here’s a good article about total tax burden. There’s more to it that just property taxes.Indiana always talks about how low their state income tax rates is but always forget the county option income tax which can amount to a total burden of 6% in the highest counties. Some legislatures spend money like it’s their own, others spend it like it someone else’s. I just paid $29 per car to renew tags here in Tennessee. https://wallethub.com/edu/states-with-highest-lowest-tax-burden/20494

High taxes take away value from the property’s equity big time.
Not going to change anytime soon, pension debt is growing like a cancer.

Consider da Dems pols in Illinois and Chicago and their masters da public sector unions like a Black Hole.
How do you stop da Black Hole from sucking in more and more of your wealth via higher and higher taxes.
Get as far away as you can from it.
Illinoisans, vote with your feet and flee da Illinois Black Hole!!
I thought I’d make a humorous comment for the holidays and googled:
“baby Jesus loves you, he just loves your public sector neighbor a little more”
This the AI response google AI creates which I thought was pretty good:
The statement implies a playful, somewhat satirical take on the concept of love, suggesting that “Baby Jesus” (a reference to the infant Jesus) might prioritize the needs or interests of public sector workers (like teachers, police, librarians) over others. It playfully challenges the idea that love should be universally equal.
Happy Easter to ALL!!!! Sorry if I offended anyone.

Rockford has a much higher rate than Winnebago county in general. My rental has an effective rate of 3.25% in the city limits but there are pockets of county with a lower rate in the city. Years ago the city of Rockford tried to annex the county part of the city but failed.
A largely unasked question is becoming glaring: Is Illinois doing all it should to use artificial intelligence to make government cost less and work better? So far, the evidence says no.

Yes, but you gotta move at the speed of light!
Don’t forget Rock Island and Winnebago Counties too. Illinois has 6 of the top 10 counties in the US with highest effective property tax rate.
Fixed it. Thanks.
