Transit leaders could vote to create a regional transit police force next January, and new “transit ambassadors” could be monitoring the CTA, Metra and Pace by July of next year. By this November, commuters should have a regional transit app to file complaints and report crimes.
Why sure, Transit Police. Excellent idea…but wait, the criminals are being released as quick as they are caught in a rivolving door and many end up committing more crime on CTA, so this could be perpetuating work. An endless supply of criminals for the Transit Police to arrest and re-arrest. Patronage hires collecting a nice salary, overtime and benefits…not to mention the glorious pension. Chicago Government at its finest.
Hiring more CTS employees isn’t the solution. Stopping the damn catch and release and adding real Cops on the trains seems like it makes sense.
Isn’t Illinois Fun?

Seems like such a force would arrest criminals on CTA, Metra and Pace for the SAFE-T Act to release same day.
A largely unasked question is becoming glaring: Is Illinois doing all it should to use artificial intelligence to make government cost less and work better? So far, the evidence says no.
