NU cancelled a promised funded chair to a conservative former military officer; quadrupled Middle Eastern student enrollment; ignored requests from donors and moderate faculty to balance the teaching, faculty and recruitment process; and in general adopted a woke, snooty, intellectual snobbery that they still live with. My eyes must be deceiving me. The photo above depicts Northwestern that is in Illinois yet the sign is all in English. Considering where it is located and the cultural makeup of Northwestern administrators shouldn’t the sign be written in word salad of languages?
Of course the press release points out the wonderful things accomplished by Northwest, with nary a word about enabling anti- Semites, subversives, failed DEI mumbo jumbo and not allowing police to arrest criminals that dart onto their campus for sanctuary.
Good. With an endowment of over $14 billion, it is long past time these formerly elite universities wean themselves off the public teat. Why should middle class citizens be funding these very profitable businesses? They can put their big-boy pants on. (NU in particular is one of the most radical / anti-American. Heck, they don’t even teach / promote honest journalism anymore – just far-left agendas.)
