Trump administration sues Illinois and Chicago over immigrant sanctuary policies – CNN

Demonstrators hold a rally and march to protest a recent increase of activity in the area by Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents on February 1, in Waukegan, Illinois. Among the challenged provisions are state laws that prohibit Illinois law enforcement officials from engaging with federal officials on enforcement of civil immigration laws. State law, however, still requires Illinois officials to work with federal officials on enforcement of criminal laws.

Here is a good article on Mayor Adams needing more money for the illegal migrants. Check out the video in the article on how much is spent on food for the migrants which in many cases is thrown into the garbage because they don’t like it. Someone who has the contract for feeding them is making a fortune.

I can’t wait to watch our local tough guy, JB, fighting the federal government the next few years. Mommy and Daddy’s and Grandpa’s money won’t help him here. And he keeps clinging to his self appointed mantle of Mr. Progressive when the entire country is moving away from that nonsense. He is heading toward the trash bin of Illinois and national politics. In five years he’ll be gone, $700, 800 or 900 hundred million poorer (not that that will affect his lifestyle). But the truly sad part is that Illinois is going to get beat up pretty badly while the… Read more »

I think Trump is for more responsibility at the state level and less at the federal level, which is not exactly good for blue states like Illinois, but I could be wrong about that.

When an illegal alien kills a US citizen in Illinois. JB Pritzker is directly responsible. Appropriate parties should be able to bring prosecution against this arrogant criminal.

What are JB and BJ gonna do when they can’t meet payroll? Well, JB can cover the state and city on his credit card but BJ will have a panic attack.

First: I hope the Trump administration wins.
Second: I hope the Trump administration makes life as miserable for JB as JB has done for me.

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. Audio here.
