U Illinois admits ‘white supremacy,’ ‘white privilege’ workshop is ‘not a debate’ – Campus Reform

The school further explains that "this workshop is not a debate: This is not a platform for debating the existence of white privilege or white supremacy," says the description. "It is assumed that participants already acknowledge these concepts, though they will be reviewed and defined in accessible terms."

What does Kruse know? He isn’t Black. He probably never lived in an integrated or Black community. ??

Usually, such workshops would be taught by any of these: sociologists, historians, criminologists and social workers.

The workshops are mainly taught by specialists, it’s an entire industry.

Yet another enlightening session developed by our learned, highly compensated state funded educators working a blistering 2 or 3 days a week. Schmucks.

“The workshop will center on Layla Saad’s book, Me and White Supremacy and will include personal reflective journaling, shared critical dialogue in large and small groups, and planning for committed action.” Here is more information on “Me and White Supremacy” by Layla Saad. This from her website: “Me and White Supremacy: A 28-Day Challenge to Combat Racism, Change the World, and Become a Good Ancestor leads readers through a journey of understanding their white privilege and participation in white supremacy, so that they can stop (often unconsciously) inflicting damage on black, indigenous and people of color, and in turn, help… Read more »

So where does UIUC Assistant Professor Adam John Krause believe the white workshop participants gained the “knowledge” about the “existence” of “white supremacy” and “white privilege?”

Is this “knowledge” found in the public high school curriculum?

Does the the Illinois State Board of Education (SBE) or the US Department of Education have standards or guidelines about educating students about “white supremacy” and “white privilege?”

Or is his workshop just one of countless justifications to attain such a goal?

The curriculum vitae (cv) for Adam John Krause is nowhere to be found. It seems to have been deleted from this website. http://illinois.academia.edu/AdamKruse/CurriculumVitae So where is the “proof” of the “white supremacy” and “white privilege” that Assistant Professor John Krause in a UIUC School of Music “White Supremacy and Music” workshop claims is present by stating the following: “This is not a platform for debating the existence of white privilege or white supremacy. It is assumed that participants already acknowledge these concepts, though they will be reviewed and defined in accessible terms.” Where is this “white supremacy” and “white privilege?”… Read more »

LOL. Kruse is White! What does he know about being Black? He never lived in East Saint Louis. Enemem and Justin Bieber have more street cred. ??

Usually, such workshops are conducted by sociologists, criminal justice profs, historians and social workers, not music teachers. ?

“This workshop is about white supremacy: Students who do not identify as white and do not hold white privilege are welcomed to observe and participate, but should understand that the readings, journal prompts, and discussions are designed for individuals who hold white privilege.” Per the University of Illinois Urbana Champaign (UIUC) workshop titled, “White Supremacy and Music” held on Tuesday’s 7PM – 9PM from June 30, 2020 to July 28, 2020. No such class…

It’s just “presumed”…

A non person of color should attend & identify as an oppressed person…

Sure sounds like oppression of white people to me…

If you have not left illinois yet,YOU are paying for all this. The taxes I would have payed for,but I left the burning dumpster fire that il is.I have used that for the fun things in life, not paying for stupid things like fat boys pay check.Or the communist schools in il. It is great living in a state where you pay no state income tax.The money now goes for RV parks and gas to see the country.
