Ted joined Jeff Daly to discuss why Illinois’ property taxes are such a national outlier, why Illinoisans are forced to pay the high, guaranteed salaries, benefits and pensions of the government class, why Illinoisans aren’t getting their money’s worth for what they pay, the teachers unions’ influence over elections, and more.
A set of state lawmakers want to extend CPS’ current school closing moratorium to February 1, 2027 – the same year CPS is set to transition to a fully-elected school board. That means schools like Manley High School, with capacity for more than 1,000 students but enrollment of just 78, can’t be closed for anther three years. The school spends $45,000 per student, but just 2.4% of students read at grade level.
Hopefully, all media will get the message, in Illinois, too.

Looks like Ill-Annoy will soon be called the state of Pottersville. Remember when Harry Bailey could not believe what he was seeing after he got his wish. Starting to look very similar. All that needed now is legalizing prostitution and we’re there. Casinos/gambling/cannabis/political corruption everywhere/abortion to the day of birth/etc. Maybe we are all in someone’s nightmare waiting to wake up. Oh Wait!! We ARE in Ill-Annoy. No nightmare just reality!
Pottersville, a perfect dystopia.
Rampant public corruption. Vices catered to. Despair everywhere. When will that scene from It’s a Wonderful Life show up in promo commercials from the Illinois visitors bureau?
The state used to discourage vices (self-harming actions undertaken with the expectation of pleasure/reward.) Now, the state plays casino and runs its own Numbers Racket and lets you play from your phone, 24/7. The state used to discourage alcohol consumption in recognition of the vice it is for many people. Now the state expands recreational intoxicant use to pot, as though somehow enabling people to indulge their vice is harmless, and will result in nifty tax revenue.
