Republicans in IL need to clean up their act. Become more moderate, and clearly renounce Maga, and instead act in accordance with the constitition (of the United States). All voters are not stupid. The Rep leadership embraced blind maga, and that’s scary. No one will trust Reps in ILL for many years cause of that. They will need to also issue a “contract with IL” that clearly demonstrates what they will do if put in power and which shows they are not Marjorie Taylor Green or Matt Gaetz in disguise (i.e. not “crazy”).

The evidence does not support your analysis. There is no mythical ‘anti-Trump’ Republican candidate that is going to cause ballots/voters two cross over party lines. Republican gubernatorial candidates have performed roughly the same in general midterm elections for two decades with or without Trump. The ‘change’ came in 2018, when 700,000 new ballots were counted and all of them were straight D ticket. That was Pritzker’s blowout. Renounce Make America Great Again? We love America! Why would we want to renounce America? The problem with the Illinois Republicans in office, they have no balls. They need to be more like Trump, MTG or Matt Gaetz. They have done nothing! Just whiny sing song excuses that we can’t do that because JB doesn’t let us come back to work.

Why run as a Republican in IL when the consulting class are all RINOs? Run as a Democrat, if you can stand the stink.

I could tolerate living here in this current slate of Democrats weren’t so bat-schlit crazy progressive, trying to trans my kid, and equitize everything. It’s so weird really, how obsessed they are with these insane ideologies.

It is a great idea to let those counties that want secession from the Cook County be granted their wish. Many of us would not have to move out of state!
Marxist, Democrats can stay in the state they created!

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. Audio here.
